Rules and Disclosures

How to Enter 

1. Registration forms are posted at www.urbanrevision.com/envision2050.  Registration and submission deadlines for the EnVision2050 competition are May 15th, 2008.  Parents and/or teachers must register a user name at www.urbanrevision.com/envision2050 to enable children to participate in the poster competition. 

2. Student artwork must be original and the size should be 24” X 36” in any medium. Artwork should be based on the theme of  “What will your city look like in the year 2050”.  Each student may submit only one entry. 

3. All entries must be accompanied by the parental release form.  The form can be downloaded and printed at www.urbanrevision.com/envision2050

4. Content restrictions -  The artwork must NOT contain:

    • Material that violates or infringes another’s rights, including but not limited to privacy, publicity or intellectual property rights, such as copyright infringement
    • Brand names or trademarks
    • Material that is defamatory, slanderous or libelous
    • Material that is unlawful, in violation of or contrary to the laws or regulations in any state where the submission is created.

Submissions that do not comply with these rules will be disqualified and not eligible for awards. 

Awards
The Competition Jury will determine the winners.  Winners will be required to furnish proof of birth date in order to received prizes.  In order to receive a prize, the legal parent or guardian of the winner will be required to execute a waiver of liability and affidavit of eligibility on behalf of the winner.  Taxes on all prizes, if any, are the sole responsibility of the winner. 

Judging
The jury will choose 20 finalists from the field of entries to receive awards and will be highlighted in a gallery exhibition.  

Eligibility 
The competition is open to all students resident in the United States (including the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico) in grades 6-12.  However, no officer, director, member, manager, partner, or employee of Urban Revision LLC or any of its affiliates, or any other person or entity involved in the development, production, implementation, distribution or sponsorship of this competition, or any of their immediate family members, or any others persons living in the same household of any such persons, is eligible to participate. In addition, no member of the jury, or any of their partners or business associates, or any of their immediate family members, or any other persons living in the same household as a member of the jury, may participate in the competition. “Immediate family members” include spouse, domestic partners, children (natural, foster, adopted), siblings, parents and of their respective spouses and domestic partners. Competitors must not communicate with the jury about the competition in any way until the winning design(s) are announced. Any competitor found in violation of this rule will be disqualified immediately. THIS COMPETITION IS VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY THE LAW OF THE COMPETITOR’S PLACE OF RESIDENCE. 

Submissions 
All submissions become the exclusive property of the Administering Sponsor, and none will be acknowledged or returned.  Administering Sponsor shall have the right to edit, copy, adapt and publish any or all of the submissions, and may use them in any media without attribution or compensation to the contestant, his or her successors or assigns, or any other entity.  ENTERING A SUBMISSION IN THIS COMPETITION CONSTITUTES PARTICIPANT’S IRREVOCABLE ASSIGNMENT, CONVEYANCE AND TRANSFER TO ADMINISTERING SPONSOR OF ALL RIGHT, TITLE AND INTEREST IN THE SUBMISSION, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ALL COPYRIGHTS.  Administering Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible or misdirected entries which are void.  In addition, by entering, contestants represent and warrant that the entries that they submit are their own original creations, do not infringe any other person’s or entity’s rights, and have not been previously entered into a contest of any kind. 

Limitation of Liability
Administering Sponsor excludes all liability for any personal injury, loss, or damage of whatever kind (including loss of data) caused directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from downloading any material from Administering Sponsor’s web site, regardless of whether the material was prepared by Administering Sponsor or a third party, and regardless of whether the material is connected to Administering Sponsor’s web site by a hypertext link. Administering Sponsor takes no responsibility for the content of third party web sites which may be linked to Administering Sponsor’s web site by a hypertext link. Administering Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or modify the competition if fraud, technical failures, or any other factor beyond Administering Sponsor’s reasonable control impairs the integrity of the competition as determined by Administering Sponsor in its sole discretion. In the event of such impairment, Administering Sponsor may choose potential winners from all eligible entries received as of the time of impairment. By receipt of any prize in the competition, the winner(s) agrees to release and hold harmless Administering Sponsor, and its affiliates, directors, officers, members, partners, managers, employees and agents from any liability for damage, injury, death, loss, cancellation or other liability arising from the winner's or winners’ participation in this competition, including without limitation, personal injury, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy . Administering Sponsor and its affiliates, directors, officers, members, partners, managers, employees and agents assume no liability for losses incurred as a result of cancellation of the competition or for any reason whatsoever or for events occurring after the award of such prize.

Governing Law and Venue
This competition shall be governed by California law. Each competitor agrees that courts in San Francisco, CA shall have exclusive jurisdiction and venue over any dispute or litigation arising from or relating to this competition.

Acceptance of Rules
By registering, each competitor affirms that he or she has read these Official Rules and fully and unconditionally accept and agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Administering Sponsor and the jury. By entering, each competitor also unconditionally agrees to waive any right to claim ambiguity or error in these Official Rules. Administering Sponsor reserves the right to modify the rules of this competition in any way or at any time.

Administering Sponsor
The sole sponsor and administrator of this competition is EnVision 2050 (herein referred to as “Administering Sponsor”). No other competition sponsor had any role in the development, production, implementation, distribution, or administration of this competition.

Winners Names 
The names of all award winners will be posted on this site after the conclusion of the competition.
