PERSONAL CARBON Once carbon becomes a commodity in US markets the next question will be how can an individual citizen take part in this market, which is dominated by large industry. Personal Carbon Trade Through Cell Phone Networks will allow every cell phone carrying person to directly earn money in the carbon commodities market. Using increasingly advanced cell phone technology, cell phones will register your distance traveled through out the city via sensor modules attached to a pole at every intersection in the city. These modules will send out a generic short distance signal to every cell phone that comes with in its perimeter. In turn the cell phone company acts as a broker, trading the amassed travel distances from every member of their vast networks. This functioning under the premise that had the cell phone client not been on foot or bike they would have been on the road in a car putting loads of CO2 into the atmosphere. All that carbon money will then be allotted appropriately to each client as a credit on their cell bill and of course a cut will go to the cell phone company for providing the service as well as creating the city wide module infrastructure. |
